Suunto Running Watches and Accessories
Other than shoes, there are few pieces of equipment more important to a runner than a good running watch. Two key features to look for in a running watch are a heart rate monitor and a chronograph with memory function. Suunto heart rate monitor watches employ a slim, comfortable chest strap to monitor your heart beat and send data wirelessly to the watch, for display and memory storage. You can programm in your upper and lower heart rate limits and be alerted if your heart rate goes outside that range - as well as keep track of your highest, lowest, and average heart rate while you're running.
Chronograph running watches include a stopwatch function capable of measuring hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as the vital ability to measure lap times and split times. Many Suunto watches store split time data for up to 99 runs, and up to 99 laps. This memory allows for more detailed, long-term analysis - especially with watches that can upload information to your computer.
