Our Review of the Suunto Arrow 5
The Suunto Arrow 5 is developed for competitive orienteering. The concept of orienteering is a race against time, so it?s important to have the compass to be easy and very clear to read. This compass is lightweight and designed to fit into the palm of your hand to consistently navigate. The Arrow 5 is also water resistant.
The Arrow 5 is a thumb compass, which means it has an irregular, angled base plate and lacks most of the directional and bearing markings found on traditional compasses. It cinches onto your thumb with a tab of elasticized webbing and stays securely as you run. A quick-swinging, highly-sensitive needle points north with no hesitation when the compass is righted parallel with the horizon.
