Our Review of the Suunto Core Accessory Strap

The range of Suunto Core Acessory Straps include the six straps as found on the various Suunto Core wristop computer models as well as three additional straps.  All straps are compatible with every Core model, allowing you to custom-tailor your Core to your tastes and needs.

Note from the staff:  All Core accessory straps can be user-replaced (small screwdriver or allen wrench may be needed depending on the strap you select).  However, sizing of the aluminum or steel bands can be quite difficult.  If you have any doubts about changing or sizing the strap yourself, we strongly recommend you have a jeweler replace and size your new strap for you.

Suunto Core

Suunto needs to sale the slugs independetly. Great watch but I want to be able to have nylon or velcro style watch bands that are extremly durable and have more style. I mean $49 the so you can get slugs so you can then buy a watchstrap you like. I belive that by paying the 200+ we deserve at least to get to change the band.

Core straps

What the heck are you guys doing to your straps? I ski, bike, climb, etc with my core and the straps are excellent with the exception of being a little sweaty in the summer. (typical of rubber straps) It is annoying to read a "bad" review when the only issue is color or cost. It says nothing to the quality of the strap. One thing about rubber, is it deteriorates over time, keep it clean, and wash it off after sweaty endeavors. It will last a long time.

Strap cut in 1 year

Reviewer: Anonymous , Athens, Greece Date: May 22, 2009
I bought a Core Black & Orange wristop, precisely 1 year ago, and I really enjoy it every day. However, the strap got torn, with an incision vertical to the length of the strap just above the point where I buckle it, and to have finally been cut the other days. Note that I wasn't strapping it very tight on my wrist, nor had that been caused by any accident. This is really regrettable, as it didn't last more than 1 year.

Suunto Core orange strap

Strap works just fine, BUT the color is terrible!! No picture on the internet truely shows what a washed out hunters orange mixed with the 80's swatch watch it really is.

Core strap

Reviewer: Jeffery Cash , High point, N.C. Date: January 26, 2008
Suunto core straps are well made, the problem with the core strap,is there is no choice of styles. If you want all black with lugs you have to buy two seperate straps at $ 49.00 a pop. which is over priced. Also the core watch is a great watch. The biggest problem is trying to see the info on the screen in low light conditons, which is alot (inside)

Comments from The Staff:

Glad to hear you're enjoying the watch itself. As for the display, the contrast can be adjusted: Check out the Suunto Core page and click the "Additional Info" tab. As for the band, sorry to hear you're disappointed with the choices and pricing. The Core and the related accessory straps are relatively new products, so perhaps we'll see more strap options in the future, but it had to start somewhere. We appreciate the feedback, though - this all goes toward making better and better product available.
