Gripes & Issues

Overall I am quite satisfied with the T6 for training purposes. The feedback is excellent. Although there are two distinct issues I am encountering one of which is just beyond my control. I followed the exact protocol for setting the timers for interval training that is listed above and NOTHING but upon further review once you get to seconds column of interval 2, you must hit mode to set it... alert sounds and all.
It is frustrating that you can't turn the interval timer on or off mid training (to slot in interval training into a longer session. But I suppose you could just set the warm up timer for longer to compensate ...)
Second gripe that I can't change is that there is no stopwatch. The count down timer could be a substitute... but a separate stopwatch would be useful.
Other than that it is an excellent tool, SO LONG AS YOU TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN ALL ITS FUNCTIONALITY.

T6C

I bought T6C about a month ago. After a couple of weeks, the black rim where functions are printed began to peel off. Now the black rim looks like burned skin with peels. I wonder whether I can exchange for new one. Other than this, I am satisfied with the watch.

Thank you so much for your review. I?m sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with the bezel of the watch. Suunto offers a 2 year warranty on all of their watches, and the problem you are experiencing would be covered under warranty. I recommend contacting Suunto directly about this issue. Great but scratches easier than I thought

I really love my watch. I have had it for about 4 months now and I use it every time I run. It seems to be pretty accurate so far. I am a little upset that the face scratches so easy especially since it's supposed to be somewhat scratch resistant. Overall I recommend the watch especially if you are training for any kind of a race or trying to reach a fitness goal.

Problems with HRM
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
Whitecourt, Alberta

Have been having troubles of late with the heart rate not showing on the watch. I have changed batteries on the heart strap and have deleted all workouts on watch and heart strap, any ideas. Also how do you turn off the hr belt so that battery can be conserved.
Comments from The Staff:
Thanks so much for posting your review. There are a number of reasons you might not be seeing HR data. Because you have already used the belt and watch together, most likely the issue is that the belt has not been properly paired to the watch. Improper battery installation on the belt could also be the culprit, however it is possible that this is a warranty issue. And finally to turn the belt off just unplug one end of the strap from the center transmitter. If you have any other questions or concerns please contact us at 800-891-8490, we'd be glad to help!

Addictive

This has become my training partner which I hate to be without. I rely on the monitor and downloading my workouts daily as a tool for fitness.
The only problem i have had, which others have noted, is the durability of the ant belt. i have had to replace mine twice.
Still I cannot think of working out for long without this device.

Great Watch
Reviewer: Uwe Willert ,

This is a very good looking and accurate HRM. Together with the software it gives you all the information you need to conduct a thorough workout review. And with Eddie Fletcher's T6c Running Guide, which can be downloaded from the Suunto training website, it will definitely help you to improve your training. On top of that, that watch looks great (doesn't have the "female" touch of the T1-4) and can be used as an everyday watch unlike some of its competitors. What I like most is, that you can customize the 2 workout displays.
The only bigger problems are, my BLACK watch is not black but dark green (looks pretty good though, but I was surprised), the face scratches easily so protective measures are recommended and if the HRM is engaged and you press the LIGHT button, the watch starts blinking (Its not like on-off blinking but bright-brighter. Nevertheless it could irritate you)
All in all a very good watch with only minor issues.

Chrono size
Reviewer: Anonymous ,

Excellent watch. Since I run without my glasses on, I find that the chrono is a little hard to see. Is there anyway of increasing the size to the same as the distance?
Comments from The Staff:
Unfortunately, changing the size of the chrono is not an option. But it's certainly a great suggestion that I will gladly pass on to the manufacturer.

Suunto t6c - Interval timers
Reviewer: Anonymous ,
New York
Date: December 09, 2008
The Suunto t6c watch is working except for the 1 reason I really bought it for. The interval timers. The timers can be setup and I see the intervals working along with the rest period that I set. The problem is I was told you would get 'alerted' when the interval is ended and the rest begins and alerted when the next interval starts again. However even with the 'tones' setting switched on, there is no alert. Which really is a disappointment since I love to do interval trainings and I would really love not to have to watch my watch to do it. PLEASE do tell if I do something wrong!
Comments from The Staff:
Hi there, the tones are just the button tones. When you push a button it beeps or it doesn't. The timers are different. Check out page 24 of the manual: 4.2 Using Timers; Interval Timer: Interval timer enables you to set and follow different timed intervals.
This function is useful in timing intervals between your periods of
activity and rest. In addition to alerting at selected time intervals,
your Suunto t6c records lap information for each interval.
To set the timers follow these steps:
1. In the settings menu, enter TRAINING.
2. Scroll to TIMERS with [Lap +] and [Light -] and enter with [Mode].
3. Scroll through the timers with [Lap +] and [Light -] and select a
timer with [Mode]. IN THIS CASE PLEASE CHOOSE "INTERVAL"
4. Set the timer on or off with [Lap +] and [Light -] and accept with
[Mode].
5. Change the values with [Mode].
6. Press [Start Stop] to exit.
If that doesn't work the "speaker" in the watch might be broken. Please check with other alarms (daily alarms or tones) if that's the case. Always feel free to contact our Customer Service Department at 800-891-8490 with any other questions.
Thank you,
Jami
